Welcome to the latest edition of our GOODS FOR GOOD Newsletter

We continue to shipping UK industry overstocks in huge truckloads to overseas communities in-need
We have sent over 100 consignments of donated new and as-new goods, with a total value of over £7,500,000
We need your urgent help to move the donated goods.
They are packed up and ready to go.
Let’s call it “postage”

Every penny counts to move the goods to the recipient communities.
Thank you for sharing the load with us.

Hear from some of our dedicated volunteers and a corporate donor.

You will  find details of our forthcoming SUPPER QUIZ.  which we hope many of you will be able to support.

But in the meantime a THANK YOU for all your amazing contributions - and helping GOODS FOR GOOD to continue to grow.

The GOODS FOR GOOD eBay project was launched by Karen Neidus  and Natalie Gibber  just prior Christmas 2016.  Since then, it has gone from strength to strength, helping to generate those all important funds, which every charity needs.

A whole range of items are listed on a weekly basis, but the ones which appear to generate the most interest, particularly so far as buyers are concerned, are items with genuine designer labels such as Ralph Lauren, DKNY, Canali, Armani, Dolce and Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, to name just a few. Equally however, popular high street names such as Dune, French Connection, Zara, Monsoon, Karen Millen, Timberland and Reiss etc. are also in high demand.

We would really love some authentic designer handbags to list. So if you are done with your Radley, Mulberry, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Coach, Kate Spade, Gucci or Chanel, and they are in good condition, please send them our way!   So remember, before parting with your no longer needed clothes, handbags or shoes, whether you think they have any value or not, please donate them to us, as they can help to raise much more than just the few £'s you think they might be worth. Thank you.

Call for volunteers.

Packing of clothes, bedding, toys and other donated items takes place at our Borehamwood premises on alternate Wednesday or Thursday mornings between 10am & 12.30pm.  Our fabulous inter-faith volunteering programme is gaining reputation and great momentum. If you are willing to spare a few hours to help pack either on occasion or on a regular basis then please email our packing coordinator for dates Cynthia Bengen
Empowering Students
We are empowering students and children by involving  them in our activities. Five boys from Haberdasher’s chose our charity for their Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteering. They have raised funds and are collecting goods from their families and friends. Other schools, students and teachers have also collected stationery and logistics funding to help refugee children in need of our help. Nicky Schulberg, a volunteer herself, is our School Volunteer Coordinator. She can be contacted by email:
Knit for Peace

Dame Hilary Blume and her Knit for Peace
charity continue to send us literally thousands of hand-knitted garments and blankets for those in dire need of our help.

These not only bring warmth to the recipients, but also the love of the volunteers, who tediously create masterpieces.

We are grateful for their financial help in delivering the goods all the way to Erbil in Northern Iraq.

We have also started sending wool, needles, and haberdashery to livelihood development projects, which are being run by
Bring Hope.
British Industry Support
With amazing donors from British industry we continue with our life-line of goods to communities in desperate need. Berwin & Berwin are proud to support our charity and are helping us with those less fortunate than ourselves. They collect and store our 2nd hand goods for us. The load them onto 40’ trucks from their business premises in Leeds.
“As a Business we have emotional ties with Eastern Europe and applaud Rosalind and her team for all their hard work and look forward to working with the team for many years to come. If we can help one person, we've made a difference".
Cynthia’s special birthday gift to GOODSFORGOOD
Last November, I celebrated my 70th birthday.  For various personal reasons, I decided that I wanted to mark this milestone by organising my own birthday party. When I started to plan the party, one of the first decisions I made was that, although I like to receive presents, at my age I don’t actually need anything and so I decided to ask my guests to make charity donations instead.

As I have been volunteering with GOODS FOR GOOD since it started, this charity was the obvious choice for me. I set up a donation page on BT mydonate,  with a link to it from my invitation and my very generous family and friends donated over £1,500. I was informed every time a donation was made and the pleasure I received at seeing the total mount up was enormous.
This was clearly a win-win situation. My guests didn’t have to worry about what present I might like, I didn’t have to pretend that I liked all the presents, and most important of all the charity benefitted. I loved every minute of my birthday party and especially telling my guests about the total sum they gave. It was all very, very satisfying and I would strongly recommend anyone to do what I did.

Community & Kol Nidre High Holiday Appeal
by Milly Lewy
The plight of refugees, the dispossessed, the poor resonates with the Jewish community in a very fundamental way. This is why I have been keen to support the work of Goods for Good since its inception.
I have been volunteering and packing goods at the warehouse, collecting good quality goods and spreading the word among members of my synagogue, Kol Chai - The Hatch End Reform Jewish Community, whenever possible. But GOODS FOR GOOD also needs funds if it is to reach those in desperate need. This is why I decided to nominate it as one of Kol Chai's Three High Holyday charities.
Just before the Jewish New Year an appeal went out to members of the community with a description of the work of the charity.  When the appeal finally closed two months later, I was delighted to discover that we had raised £2,700.
If your community or place of worship accepts nominations for charity appeals why not suggest GOODS FOR GOOD?  Their work is making a real difference to the lives of so many desperate people and most of us don’t have to look too far back through our family history to understand why it matters.

Open Day on Sunday 2nd April 12:00 - 16:00 - pop in to see what we do! Let’s do it together.
