National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

On Saturday, April 27, Substance Abuse Free Indian River (SAFIR) participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, along with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, Vero Beach Police Department, Sebastian Police Department, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Together, the SAFIR Coalition and local law enforcement were able to remove 525 pounds of unused medication from the community to be safely and properly disposed of.

Alcohol Responsibility: Keep You AND Your Customers SAFE
The Division of Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco and Indian River County Sheriff’s Office assisted liquor licensees in understanding how to maintain compliance with laws, rules, and regulations as well as provide the knowledge to identify fake I.D.’s.
Friday Night Done Right

Our Friday Night Done Right event is meant to show teens that they can have fun without drugs and alcohol.  We spent this past Friday with the Boys & Girls Club of Fellsmere. We had a great time playing laser tag at Strike Zone and enjoyed pizza afterward. The theme was “Most Teens Don’t”. Check out the posters the kids made!
Meet the DeTerra Pouch

This pouch is a drug deactivation environmentally safe and eco-friendly system that will safely dispose of your prescription pills when you are done with them. Poorly disposing of your prescription pills can harm humans and animals. There have been traces found in drinking water and rivers. Learn more by reading about it on our website, linked below.
