Let’s Pray for Masjid Al Aqsa

Masjid Al Aqsa, the 3rd Holiest site for the Muslims, have been occupied for many decades by the Jews. Several International Organizations including the United Nations, have held many meetings and several resolutions have been passed, but nothing much seems to have been implemented.

The Jews who have occupied the Holy site, have made tunnels under the Masjid Al Aqsa, and also been torturing the innocent Palestinian people, mercilessly. The injustices and the atrocities acts are unbearable to be witnessed where even the small children are also attacked.

While a place called ‘Israel’ never existed earlier, and only a special favour was granted for temporary access initially, the Jews have currently occupied the Sacred Land and have been oppressing the Palestinians continuously. There are invading the State borders, oppressing the people and not only occupied the Masjid Al Aqsa, which is the property of every Muslim in this world, but also closing the Masjid as and when they wish.

The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama requests all to Make Du’a for the victory of the Palestinians and the freedom of Masjid Al Aqsa.

The ACJU strongly urges all, especially during the forthcoming Thasu’a, A’shura fasts on the 9th (Friday) and 10th (Saturday) of Muharram, to focus on this matter in their respective Duas.

It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (Radhiyallahu Anhuthat the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Fasting the day of ‘Ashura’, I hope, will expiate for the sins of the previous year.”

Ibnu Maajah Hadith 1738

Please advice the Days on which the Aashura Fasts should be observed.

When fasting on the day of Aashura, it is advisable to fast one day before or one day after the day of Aashura. The Holy Prophet ﷺ wanted to distinguish the Islamic-way of fasting from that of Jews. Therefore, he advised the Muslims to add another fast to that of ‘Aashooraa.

Abdullah bin  'Abbaas Radhiyallahu Anhuma reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said:
"If I live till the next (year), I would definitely observe fast on the 9th". (Saheehu Muslim)
