Welcome and congratulations on being a member of the 2016 Real Athletics family!

We are very excited to kick off the 2016 AAU season with some very talented individuals within our program. We hope that every player within the Real Athletics family continues to grow on and off the court this spring and summer. While our goal is to help every player improve their basketball skills, we also hope that each one of you also develops your leadership skills and abilities as well. We can't wait to see what this spring and summer holds for the Real Athletics family.

2016 National Letter of Intent List

Congratulations to these RA athletes who have decided to continue their athletic careers at the next level. We can't wait to see what you do with your future.

  • Malcolm Moore - University of Nebraska Kearney (football scholarship) 

Practice Ideas

Practices can be very intense and because of this we want our athletes to eat right so they can get the most out of their body.  Do not depend on vending machines and concession stands. Below is a list that we recommend that you can grab quick and be ready to go: 
  • Fruits (orange slices, grapes, cut up melon, etc.)
  • Vegetables with dip
  • Yogurt tubes
  • Kind bars/granola bars
It's also important to remain hydrated at all times. Too many kids wait to drink water for when they're tired during practice. Athletes should constantly be drinking water during the day. Having and drinking from a water bottle at all times is critical to performing at your highest level. 

In addition to things to eat and drink, athletes should always ensure they have the right equipment with them. Carrying an extra pair of socks, athletic tape, and even a mouthguard are all things that you can do to help prevent injuries that would keep you off the court. 
Real Athletics wants to say congratulations to Coach Leah Dasovich and the ladies at Minnetonka High School for winning the class 4A state championship this season. We have been working with this group of seniors for the past 5 seasons and hard work really pays off.  The hard work and dedication that goes into the season is a lot and we want to say congratulations to the players, coaches, and parents for allowing us to be a part of the development process.

Spring/Summer Skills & Strength Training

Real Athletics will be providing Real Skills & Strength Training Sessions for RA members & any players who are interested in developing their all-around game this spring/summer. Details will be posted soon.  Please follow us at @RealAthletics to stay informed.
