I hope this email finds you and your family healthy and safe.  Allow me to welcome you to the spring quarter. I understand that remote classes are going well and 90% of you have obtained credits toward your graduation this last quarter. I can honestly say that these last few months were, by far, the weirdest in my forty-five years of educational management but I'm confident we will overcome all these obstacles if we work together.

Eastwick College has been chosen to administer Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds to our students and graduates who were active on March 13th through today.  The U.S. Department of Education has made these grants available to students who need financial assistance with expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to Coronavirus. Once the application period ends the applications will be reviewed and a grant amount will be determined. Please contact your campus financial aid department for additional information.

In addition, the college administration has been in contact with the NJ Secretary of Higher Education and we are happy to report that the State of NJ has allowed us to request a waiver that could permit us to offer lab classes on campus. We have sent out the relevant paperwork today, and hope to know more on this by the end of the week. Be assured that if the waiver is granted, we will be opening the labs under the strictest of medical guidelines to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and faculty.

I'm sorry to say that graduation ceremonies for January and April graduates are postponed indefinitely. Diplomas can be mailed out in the next 2-3 weeks by sending a request to Abylash George at ageorge@eastwick.edu. If you'd prefer to have your degree in a diploma binder you can make arrangements with Mr. George for pickup at the Ramsey campus. It is my hope that another ceremony that includes all 2020 graduates will be offered later this year.

Best regards,

Thomas M. Eastwick

To the Eastwick College Community:

As you know, following Governor Murphy’s order to close all NJ schools and colleges, we made the move to offer online distance learning options for our theory classes. It has been a very successful transition and I’d like to thank our students for the patience that they have shown in these difficult times, as well as the faculty, staff and technical teams that have helped facilitate this process.

I’m proud to announce that we have also begun providing online distance learning for some of our lab classes, and you will receive updates as these classes are integrated into this new system.

As part of this process, you should have received instructions on how to use Zoom to connect to your online lectures. Please see this link for a copy of these instructions.

We will continue to work on providing you the best educational solutions during these stressful times, and provide regular updates. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me directly at teastwick@eastwick.edu.

I wish you good health and safety as we move forward.
