Celebrating the Thames Deckway in 2015

What a year!

We extend our thanks again to those who have supported our mission so far. Our campaign has helped raise awareness of the project and brought us new and enthusiastic supporters from around the world!

The team are excited about the diverse opportunities for both public and private engagement with our project in the new year as we focus on new investment directions both at home and internationally.

2016 will be off to a rapid start in January as we begin our consultation with regulatory bodies such as the Port of London Authority. With these complete the Thames Deckway will be able to attract investors and develop pathways towards construction of the project.

We are looking forward to an extremely exciting and busy 2016!

Introducing our Newest Advisor: Royal HaskoningDHV

We are delighted to announce a new relationship with international engineering firm, Royal HaskoningDHV, who will be assisting us with transport, engineering and environmental expertise. Royal HaskoningDHV are a world class firm with professional expertise in dealing with the world's highly unpredictable and ever changing environment.

Talking about the Thames with Ted Hunt

Another highlight of the year for us, was when Anna had the honour of interviewing Edwin ‘Ted’ Hunt at The Mayflower in Rotherhithe. Anna and Ted discussed all things Thames, tides and tough tales of WWII.
Ted remains an infinite fountain of valuable knowledge with decades of experience on the water, starting out as a Thames lighterman in his youth and a sapper waterman of the Royal Engineers during the war before serving as the Queen’s Bargemaster for 12 years.

The Thames Deckway Events 2015

In London this year, we’ve had some interesting opportunities to showcase our project. Recently we presented at the Thames Estuary Partnership’s Christmas event, ‘In Touch with the Thames,’ hosted by UCL earlier this week.

The TEP event was a fantastic wrap up for a busy year, which included the Thames Deckway team presenting at Impact Hub Westminster, RSA London, New London Architecture and Fab Lab London events. A highlight was being chosen to join the Design Museum’s ‘Cycling Revolution’ exhibition, which is on until June 2016.

We were proud to have attended the historic Paris Climate Conference in recent weeks and look forward to developing and fostering partnerships with some of the amazing companies and organisations we met there.
