Bladensburg MD… Cyberjamz, Houseology, Real Women House and RescuePoetix™ have joined forces, resources and spirits to put together House on the Waterfront weekender, starting Friday, August 5, 2016 with Just ADD Sound. A double header is set for Saturday, August 6, 2016 with Mont.age presents The Sam Burns Boat Party! Featuring Bacanito (Montreal) and Backbar and Mont.age present After Dark After Party featuring Sam Burns and Bacanito. Sunday, August 7, 2016 features The House on the Waterfront Weekender finale at Bladensburg Waterfront Park. This all day event is open and free to the public and offers interactive activities such as Yoga, Gospel House aerobics, Zumba Fitness and Spoken Word and dance performances.

The House on the Waterfront Weekender showcases a diversified offering of entrepreneurs, independent business owners, DJs, artists, organizers and supporters of Global House Music, poetry, education, health and fitness and dance coming together from a variety of locations as Maryland, Washington DC, Miami FL, New York, New Jersey and Montreal Canada.

Just ADD Sound poetry event and Open Mic kicks off the weekend of House Music/World Music and Poetry on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Bird Kitchen and Cocktails in Mt Rainier. This collaboration taps into the Maryland/DC area for artists and encourages local poets/spoken word artists to participate in the open mic segment. Just ADD Sound House on the Waterfront kick off features poet  MJG Speaks “The Unlicensed Preacher” (Maryland), on the decks, DJ Val (Washing DC), world renowned Poet/Activist Tantra-zawadi (New York), National Poet/Vocalist Camille Veronica (Miami) and Acoustic Poetic Soul™ artists Julie & Makeda (San Diego/New Jersey)

Saturday, August 6, 2016, House on the Waterfront weekender joins collaborative efforts with Ildemar Cerruto for the Mont.age presents The Sam Burns Boat Party! Featuring Bacanito (Montreal). Tickets are available for this event on Eventbrite and include General Admission, drink package and bottle service options. Boarding starts at 12:30 pm and boat leaves the dock at 12:50 pm, returning at 3:30 pm at Boomerang Boat at Georgetown Waterfront. Washington DC legendary DJ Sam Burns takes his skills to the waves with guest Producer/DJ Carlito Brigante (Bacanito) from Montreal Canada

Saturday, August 6, 2016 the party moves from the water to Backbar as the official after party to Mont.age’s day time boat party featuring Sam Burns and Bacanito. Expect an extremely intimate show at the Backbar underground basement venue. Capacity is limited to fifty (50) attendees. Advance purchase tickets are highly recommended and available as a package through Eventbrite. Doors open at 11:00 pm and ends at 3:00 am

Sunday, August 7, 2016 pulls community, music and Arts elements to create an experience with something for everyone. Family friendly and free, this all day event is open to the public and offers the following interactive activities: Yoga, Gospel House aerobics, Zumba, local vendor support, House music and live performances. House on the Waterfront has several community organizations with performance presentations, including MC Explosion competitive cheer team, L.I.T (Living in Truth) Dance troupe, and Middle Eastern dance. In addition to interactive and spectator performances, Artists who will be performing live are singer Heda Rose and Poets/Spoken Word Artists Camille Veronica, Jordan Holmes and RescuePoetix™.

The entire day will be set to a variety of musical genres and ranges. On the line up are Aphrosoul, Soundscience, Dee Clark, Sammy “Soul Oasis” Rock, Catherine “DJ Housecat” Rowell and Hippie Torrales.

Boomerang Tours was born during the spring of 2006 by local Washingtonians. Boomerang founders loved taking advantage of all the unique events DC had to offer throughout the years. Bladensburg Waterfront Park
Nestled among the Port Towns of Bladensburg, Colmar Manor and Cottage City, The Bladensburg Waterfront Park is located on the Anacostia River, one of the most historic waterways in America.


From Washington D.C., take New York Avenue East. Turn North on Bladensburg Road. Pass Peace Cross on left. You are now on MD Route 450. Take 1st right into Bladensburg Waterfront Park. There is a sign at the entrance.
From Maryland, from the Beltway, take exit 23 which is Kenilworth Avenue South towards Bladensburg. Go five miles. After traffic light for Upshur Street intersection, go right on exit ramp to MD Route 450 (Annapolis Road). Go left at end of exit ramp onto Route 450 West. Park Entrance is 2 short blocks on the left.
From Virginia, take Kenilworth Avenue North. Take the exit ramp on right to MD Route 450 West. Turn right at stop light onto MD Route 450 West. Park entrance is 2 short blocks on the left
