LAUNCH OF THE FRINGE CENTRE

FRINGE: The Centre for the Study of Social & Cultural Complexity

We are delighted to invite you to the FRINGE IAS Launch party! The FRINGE Centre explores the roles that complexity, ambivalence and immeasurability play in social and cultural phenomena. It is an initiative founded and funded by the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies and housed at the UCL Institute of Advanced Studies.

The FRINGE IAS Launch will take the form of a panel discussion in which FRINGE academics introduce Flagship Projects. Topics range from Trans-Centric Urbanism to Silent Resistance. Participating academics are from UCL's School of Slavonic & East European Studies, and include:

  • Dr. Tim Beasley-Murray, Senior Lecturer in European Thought and Culture 
  • Dr. Tomas Cvrcek, Lecturer In Economics
  • Dr Eric Gordy, Senior Lecturer in Southeast European Politics
  • Dr. Udo Grashoff, DAAD Francis L. Carsten Lecturer in Modern German History
  • Prof. Alena Ledeneva, Professor of Politics and Society 
  • Dr. Michal Murawski, Mellon Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
  • Dr. Maria Rubins, Senior Lecturer in Russian Literature
  • Dr. Peter Zusi, Lecturer on Czech with Slovak Literature
