Vandiver Appointed to Governor's Task Force on Juvenile Sex Offenses

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Dr. Donna Vandiver, associate professor and interim doctoral program director in the School of Criminal Justice, to the Task Force on Improving Outcomes for Juveniles Adjudicated of Sexual Offenses.

Dr. Marcus Felson, Professor in the School of Criminal Justice was invited to present up to ten presentations in Sweden, Australia, and New Zealand this Summer with Griffith University on Reducing Crime at Minimal Cost among other topics on Insights and Innovations in Crime Prevention Programs.

Texas State Announces Faculty Promotions, Tenure for 2015

Beltsville, Maryland Agricultural Research Center Summer Research Experience
Three undergraduate students from Texas State University been selected to attend a two month summer research experience with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Agriculture Research Service in Beltsville, Maryland on June 1- July 31.  All of the students are part of the USDA-NIFA funded HSI grant housed in the Department of Agriculture at Texas State University. 
The students that are participating include:
Undergraduate Students
Shelby Medina (Animal Science)
Isamar Sanchez (Animal Science)
Gabriela Solis (Biology)

Texas State to Host 3-day USDA/NIFA Grants Workshop, Career Fair

The U.S. Department of Agriculture and National Institute of Food and Agriculture will bring a grants and employment workshop and career fair to Texas State Aug. 26-28 with an opportunity to allow hundreds more to virtually connect.

Interior Design Program Earns CIDA Re-Accreditation

The Accreditation Commission of the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) has accredited the interior design program in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences at Texas State University.

The accreditation is for a term of six years.

Best Food FITS is Going Strong
The June newsletter for Best Food FITS was almost finished just before the Memorial Weekend flood hit. After that, Resident Services staff were helping with recovery efforts and the newsletter had to wait.
