Upcoming Dates:

8/21: IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING MONDAY’S SOLAR ECLIPSE

We appreciate the significance of the solar eclipse on Monday, August 21st; however student safety is very important. The decision has been made at Proctor Terrace, as well as our other district Elementary schools, to keep our students inside during the morning. Students may have the opportunity to view the eclipse through live streaming in their classrooms.

Thank you for your understanding,
Kathy Olmsted

8/23: 2:30pm Farmer's Market - From the Proctor Garden to your table! Bring cash. A table will be set up under the scrolling marquee. We'll have red and golden cherry tomatoes, cantaloupe and pumpkins.

If you aren't familiar with the school yet, our children work with our wonderful Garden Coordinator (Ms. Stanbro) to raise various produce throughout the year. The garden is located in the open space between the kindergarten and first grade halls.

8/25: 7:45am Welcome Back Coffee - Join us on Friday, August 25th for a welcome back coffee. Run Around Brew coffee truck will be parked near the TK fence, starting at around 7:45, sponsored by your PTA.

Come join us for a freshly brewed latte (it's all free!), and meet other parents, or say hello to old friends. This is a great opportunity, especially for new Kinder parents, to meet each other and learn more about the school.  The PTA board will be there to answer any questions you may have about how the PTA works and all the wonderful activities we promote on campus.  Look forward to seeing you next Friday!

Walking School Bus

We would LOVE to support more families walking or bicycling to school together it strengthens our community, it gets our students active and ready to learn, and it’s good for the environment.

We are looking for moms, dads, and other guardians that are interested in a “Walking School Buses” on Wednesday mornings. You do not need to live close to our school to participate. We can establish park and walk stops for students that live farther away. If interested, please return the bottom portion of this form and we will contact you.

Let’s work together to promote a safe and healthy way to get to school! If you have any questions, you may call Minona Heaviland at 707-978-4201 or email minona@gmail.com

PTA Hello

Hi Everyone!

I’m looking forward to another great year working with the best parents, best teachers and for the best students in the world!   I’ve so enjoyed working together with all of you to make our school better.   Our PTA bylaws require a rotation in office after 2 years, so next year will bring in a new president, with new ideas and new ways of looking at challenges.   Could it be you?  I’ve found this work to be great for building my skills: organization, networking, communication and, of course leadership.  It’s also expanded my community awareness, educating me about our city, school district and government.  I’ll take all of that back to working full time again next year.   If you are thinking about making a transition, running for office, looking to build skills to re-enter the workforce, or just looking for an opportunity to do some incredibly rewarding work, please seek me out or email me at president@proctorterracepta.org    I’d love to give you the inside view of our activities, so you can see if leading this group would be right for you.  Thanks to all of you, for all you do.

Sincerely, Bess Allen, PTA President 2018-19

Walkathon

The annual walkathon has been scheduled for Friday, September 29 this year.    This is our super fun fall fundraiser and one of the best events of the whole school year - kids walk or run around the track for as many laps as they can, earning prizes as they go - and money per lap from pledges!

It’s one of our largest fundraisers,  and one of the most memorable and fun days in our school year.   If you are interested in working on the committee, volunteering that day, or have connections to a local business that would like to sponsor a booth or the event, please contact Francesca Arga, Walkathon Chair, at walkathon@proctorterracepta.org

Classroom Wishlists:

Proctor Terrace teachers have created Amazon.com wishlists to make it easier for parents to directly support their children’s classrooms and school. Each teacher can choose items and supplies that would make a difference in their classrooms, parents can easily purchase the exact items the teachers want, and Amazon ships and keeps track of it all to avoid duplicate purchases. If you do not see your teacher on the list, please ask them to create one.

Please click here for more details and to view your classroom's wishlist
