Pray Our Way Forward Jan. 29 - Feb. 4
Bishop Schol invites all United Methodists in GNJ to join him in Phase 2 of 'Praying our Way Forward' - the Council of Bishops' prayer initiative which is taking place now through Spring, 2018. Graceful Controversies Event Gathering
All laity and clergy from GNJ are invited into a deeper conversation to develop hopes and aspirations for the future of The United Methodist Church and send them to the Commission on the Way Forward. Robin Hood Grant Boosts A Future With Hope Collaboration
The Robin Hood Foundation has reaffirmed their support for Sandy recovery and the work of A Future With Hope by allocating a new grant of $1.45 million to A Future With Hope and its partners. Click here to read the story.
Collingswood VBS Raises Funds to Further Mission
A donation of $718.50 was collected by VBS kids and parents of First UMC in Collingswood using video clips from A Future With Hope's website. Kids and parents were challenged to reach a goal that was set by using a submarine which went from one end of a stage to the other as giving grew. Thank you for your generous support!
Shared Ministry - Action Required Today
The deadline for submission of shared ministry giving for 2016 is today, January 12, 2017. Shared ministry funds support denomination-wide ministries including World Service, Africa University, Black College and Ministerial Education funding among others. If your church has not fulfilled its shared ministry commitment, please contact Cari Cruz.
Mandatory Make-Up Clergy Gathering
A mandatory make-up clergy gathering will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Mission and Resource Center. This meeting is mandatory for all clergy in or expecting to be appointed to a congregation, both part and full-time who were unable to attend the Jan. 11 gathering. March 2, 2017 - Pre-Retirement Seminar
The Conference Board of Pension and Health Benefits is presenting a Pre-retirement Seminar for pastors and their spouses. A Benefits Educator from the Wespath Benefits and Investments will speak on retirement planning on Thursday, March 2nd for those planning to retire in the next five years. This session will also feature a speaker from the Social Security Administration on Social Security and Medicare. Click here for more information.

2016 Workers' Compensation Payroll Audit Forms
Look for the customized 2016 Workers' Compensation Payroll Audit Forms which were mailed to every church on Dec. 1 by Church Mutual. The audit covers 2016 payroll for both church and church-controlled nursery school workers. Completed audits are due Jan. 15 and are to be sent directly to Church Mutual.
