Dear ABS Family,
Own a Piece of ABS History
As all of you know, for several decades our school lived on our Hoffman Street campus. Since moving into our new facility, we have been able to sell the old property. The new owners of our old school, Bryant Bank, are getting ready to move forward with their plans for the property. Part of those plans involves the demolition of the old gymnasium.
While we are excited over our new school, the sentimental value of the old one and especially the gym, make it kind of sad to see the old buildings come down. However, Bryant Bank is generously giving us the old gym floor!
For the last few years, we have heard from several that they would like to have a ‘piece of the old floor’ as a keepsake for the special memories that they have in the various activities over the year. Tommy Coblentz, an ABS Alumni and Bryant Bank executive, has been working with us and coordinated with the demo crew to take up the floor in large sections and provide to us.
Our plan is to sell the floor to support our continued fundraising efforts at our new campus.
To the extent that we can, we are planning to take up the floor in a way that keeps some major areas intact such as the baselines, center court, and the ABS markings on the sideline. With the remaining wood, we plan to make various “keepsake” or “memorial” pieces to sell.
While we are still working out the details, please let us know if you are interested in purchasing part of the floor. If you are interested, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
