Election of the future Dean Per Joakim AGRELL
Professor Per Joakim AGRELL was elected Dean of the Louvain School of Management at the Faculty Council of June 6, succeeding Professor Michel DE WOLF for a mandate of two years from September 1, 2018.
« I feel proud and humble to take the lead of the faculty », says Professor Per AGRELL, « The clear strategy to leverage upon the strong links to our research institutes, our exclusive international networks, and the complementarity of our two sites will be continued.
Naturally, the teaching quality is a priority for the faculty and this will guide us in the finetuning of the reform and the Master’s thesis processes. Finally, my mandate will also focus at recognition and transparency. Each member of our staff needs to receive recognition, support and guidelines for their personal professional development. The commitment of all staff members towards the collective goals requires trust and confidence in the processes, which my team and myself will achieve by transparency and openness. »

New meeting of the France-Benelux PRME Chapter
The France-Benelux PRME Chapter met for the second time in Marseille. The purpose of this Chapter is to transform the mindset of business and society to encourage them to consider ethics, sustainability and education for responsible management as the standard of conduct.
The Louvain School of Management joined this new Chapter and was represented for this second meeting by Carlos Desmet.
The third meeting will take place early next spring.
Extension of the Philippe de Woot Prize partnerships
On 4 June, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of KULeuven and the Louvain School of Management (LSM) of UCL held a working meeting to extend the partnerships underlying the Philippe de Woot Prize.

1000 Jours dans l'Histoire
On June 13, La Première, in collaboration with the RTBF Interactive department (iRTBF) and the Louvain School of Management, set up an interactive platform offering 1000 programmes retracing the different periods of our history. This new tool is part of the desire to monitor the evolution of our media consumption. Nicolas Kervyn, assistant professor at the LSM, was the project leader.

Trip to London 2018
The Trip to London 2018 organized by the Louvain School of Management and the Louvain Finance Center, took place on the 17th and 18th of May. During those two days, students had the opportunity to receive professional trainings and get exposure to top tier financial companies at the heart of the finance centre in Europe. Around 100 participants were present to this edition.
 
Event - Corporate Meet and Greet on June 20th
The first edition of the "LSM Corporate Meet and Greet" took place on Wednesday June 20, bringing together 70 guests (company representatives, students, professors and the LSM corporate team).
This evening was the opportunity for the partner companies of the Louvain School of Management to discover the 2018-2019 calendar of "Professional Development" events that will benefit students and alumni of the LSM throughout the next academic year.

Event - Communication & Writing Skills course on June 11th
In the context of the "Communication & Writing Skills" advanced course with Profs. Valérie Swaen and Manuel Kolp, doctoral and research master students from UCLouvain/LSM, the University of Namur, University of Liège/HEC, University Saint-Louis Brussels and University of Mons participated and presented their research works and papers during a final full day event on Monday June 11, 2018.
Organized around typical presentation and poster sessions, about 30 PhD candidates, professors and researchers discussed and debated their work in management, finance, innovation, corporate social responsibility, human capital management, organizational learning, brand management, ...
