Students in Years 7 and 8 at King Harold Academy have taken part in trips to the University of Essex.
Maddie Eisenstadt, Project Manager of Inspiring Hospitality Careers, delivered an engaging presentation on the varied career paths available within the hospitality sector.
Students also had a tour, led by The Edge School University students, of the four-star Wivenhoe Hotel within the grounds of the campus.
The Edge Hotel School at the University of Essex provides industry-led hospitality and events management degrees with hands-on experience in a real four-star hotel.
Maddie said: "The Year 7 students had some brilliant ideas when we planned out Hotel Calamity game.
"I was extremely impressed as they came up with ideas that I have only ever had university students think of before."
She added: "The Year 8 students were also a delight to work with. They were one of the best behaved and most engaged groups I have worked with.
"They asked some brilliant questions and really made use of the visit to find out as much as they could about the industry and higher education."
