Aplicom A11W device available with hotspot

Aplicom A11W is now available with WLAN hotspot functionality, which opens up new use scenarios in different applications.
 
The hotspot feature adds native Internet connections to WLAN devices connected to the A11W created WLAN network. This allows devices to connect to company back-end systems via Internet to utilise the same 3G connection of the A11W hotspot. The connections can be controlled and limited if desired. All connected devices work in same secured WLAN network environment and can communicate locally as well.
 
The main use cases for hotspot are to connect WLAN capable devices, tablets, terminals, sensors etc. to the system provider back-end systems. The hotspot function works as a small router to create local WLAN network and enabling connection to the Internet or to partners private network if private secure APN’s are used in 3G network. Connection capacity the hotspot is not intended for browsing type use of Internet, nor other demanding services like video streaming etc.
 
The WLAN works in three principal modes:
1.     WLAN access point (AP) mode
2.     WLAN hotspot mode
3.     WLAN client mode

Aplicom 1-Wire temperature monitoring solution offers cost-effective way for measuring and reporting temperatures

Aplicom announces 1-Wire sensor based temperature monitoring solution. The solution offers cost effective way for measuring and reporting temperatures to back-end systems for monitoring temperatures in temperature sensitive transports or other M2M type applications.
 
The solution consists of:
  • Aplicom A9 NEX/TRIX or A11 unit having 1-wire interface available and unit updated to SW versions mentioned in Aplicom Product Announcement 06/2017
  • An interface cable for connecting to A-series unit 1-Wire interface connector and sensors wirings with open ends wires.
  • Aplicom 1-Wire temperature sensor(s) with open ends wires

Aplicom devices use with OEM fuel level sensors

The  fuel level sensors are used for fuel level and volume measurement in tanks of vehicles and stationary units.
 
Aplicom A-series devices are compatible with for example Technoton DUT-E 232 - and Technoton DUT-E AF fuel level sensors and other OEM sensors giving fuel level as analogue signal can also be used with A-series by connecting them to available analogue inputs.

DUT-E sensors allows to determine current fuel volume and change in volume (refuelling or draining) of fuel in the tank. The sensor models give the fuel level or volume information in different format, either serial RS232 data or analogue signal to be measured with A-series unit.
 
The actual sensor settings for operation modes and volume calculations needs to be made with sensor supplier instructions for each use case. This applies also for the installing instructions of the sensors.

The OEM fuel sensors can be used as additional fuel sensor or as a replacement of standard built-in (factory) fuel level sensor. When used as a part of telematics system, the sensors give independent, reliable information on current fuel level/volume in the tank and to reveal misuse and fuel theft from tank. Also general overview on fuel usage by vehicle or stationary unit can be monitored.

K505035 using DUT-E with A9 NEX and A9 TRIX & K505036 Using DUT-E 232 with A9 NEX and A9 TRIX describe the needed actions when Technoton DUT-E AF fuel level sensor is used with Aplicom A9 NEX, A9 TRIX and A9 IPEX.
