On Thursday, June 21 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm ET, the CSIS Global Health Policy Center will host a public event to highlight lessons learned from the 5-year Saving Mothers, Giving Life (SMGL) initiative. SMGL is a public-private partnership to dramatically reduce maternal and newborn mortality in sub-Saharan African countries, namely Zambia, Uganda, and Nigeria. SMGL was unique in the way it brought together partners across U.S. Government health programs and agencies, as well as external partners and host governments to focus on a singular goal. The event will feature a presentation of the outcomes of 5 years of SMGL programming and highlight the successes and challenges of the innovative partnership. Speakers will include representatives from the SMGL Leadership Council and country governments. Stay tuned for more information on speakers and registration.

This event will also be webcast live from the CSIS Global Health Policy Center program page.

Please direct any questions to Alex Bush (abush@csis.org).
