Patterson-Woods Welcomes Marvin Sachs to Real Estate Team
Patterson-Woods is pleased to welcome Marvin Sachs to our commercial real estate team. As a native of Wilmington, educated here and in nearby Philadelphia, Marvin brings a wealth of experience and business contacts. From 1975 to 1985, as President of Sachs Realty, a well-respected mostly residential local firm, Marvin made his mark in the local real estate scene. Along the way, Marvin obtained his auctioneer's license and now operates Marvin Sachs Auction Company, which will remain separate from Patterson-Woods.

As an active member of the State of Delaware Real Estate Commission, and a onetime chairman of that commission, Marvin is known for his integrity and professionalism. Marvin is able to assist in all phases of commercial real estate.

CCIM Scholarship Established in Honor of Duncan Patterson
The PA/NJ/DE CCIM Chapter has recently established a scholarship to honor individuals for their outstanding service to their CCIM chapter, the commercial real estate industry and to their communities. The scholarship, named the W. Duncan Patterson, Jr./Darbin Skeans Scholarship, was named after Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties/CORFAC International President Duncan Patterson, CCIM, and SVN | Imperial Realty Principal Darbin Skeans, CCIM. Duncan served as President of the CCIM Institute in 2000 and is currently on the Board of Directors for the CCIM Foundation. He was instrumental in developing the course, Making Transactions Happen with Real Estate Gifting, which he teaches nationally. The course is administered by the CCIM Foundation and works to advance knowledge and professionalism in the field of commercial investment real estate.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in the fall, and will help the recipient with the cost of the desigination course CI 103: User Decision Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate. With the approval of this and several new scholarships around the country, the CCIM Foundation now has 105 fully funded scholarships.
Vincent White Elected National Director of REEA
Vincent White has been elected as the National Director of The Real Estate Educators Association (REEA). He was installed on June 24 in Miami Beach, Florida, where REEA was holding its annual conference. In addition to National Director, Vincent was named and installed as treasurer of the organization. As National Director, Vincent will be responsible for seminars and overall membership experience. REEA provides resources and opportunities for professional development to individuals and organizations involved in Real Estate education. Vincent has been a member of the organization for five years. www.reea.org
 
ICSC RECon Las Vegas
Patterson-Woods Principal, Joseph Latina, represented Patterson-Woods at this year's RECon ICSC convention in Las Vegas. RECon is the world's largest real estate retail convention drawing over 37,000 attendees from 58 different countries annually. Patterson-Woods joined six other CORFAC Firms from around the country at Booth C2405 on the RECon Leasing Mall. Together, they met with many current and potential clients during the 3-day event. Latina was elected to the CORFAC Executive Committee in September of 2015 and is also an active participant in CORFAC's Retail Services Group.

Vincent White Supports Local Organizations with 1st Annual 
100 Hole Golf Challenge
On June 20th, Vincent White golfed 100 holes in 1 day to raise money and awareness for local organizations. He tee'd off at 5 am at the McCall Golf & Country Club in Upper Darby, PA. Throughout the day, he covered a total of 20 miles in 15 hours. Patrons pledged donations based on the number of holes, birdies and pars completed. The final score card was verified by the McCall Pro Shop. As a result of the event, White has raised $3,500 to date, with donations continuing to come in for the following organizations: The Arc of Delaware, Delaware Humane Association, Duffy's HopeThe Gateway Lions Club-Wilmington, and Wilmington Head Start.

Recent Transactions
Greg Ellis, CCIM, represented the seller, YWCA Delaware, Inc., in the sale of a 4-story, 16,000 sq. ft. building located at 225 N King Street in Wilmington, DE. 225 King, LLC purchased the building. 225 N King Street sits on .14 AC with access on both King and Market Streets.  An adjoining lot located at 216 N Market Street was also included in the sale.
After decades in various city locations, Walt's Flavor Chicken Express, the well-known Wilmington take-out, has opened a second 1,200 sq. ft. retail space in Carpenter Plaza Shopping Center. Tom Ryan represented the tenant in the lease negotiations. Walt's is a local favorite and has been voted "Best of Delaware" by Delaware Today in years past. The new location offers the same menu as their 102 N Lincoln Street store in Wilmington.
Chris Moore represented the landlord, KT & Associates, in the lease of a 12,575 sq. ft. industrial building at 20 Germay Drive in Wilmington, DE. Cassidy Painting, Inc. is the tenant. Chris was the only broker involved in this transaction.

McLane Hendriks represented both the landlord and the tenant, Chantilly Blue, LLC, in the lease of a 1,000 sq. ft. retail space at 117 W State Street in Kennett Square, PA. Chantilly Blue, a women's clothing store specializing in premium denim, is relocating to this space from across the street.
