Term 3 is a wrap making it 350 TRACTION participants that have completed projects and emerged with new skills and confidence so far! Last term, our Capalaba and Moorooka workshops were flat out with the Kingston workshop running on Fridays in partnership with the YMCA Vocational School.

It was a privilege for TRACTION to be the pit crew supporting 7 students from Redland District Special School compete in the 24 hour Human Powered Vehicle Challenge at Maryborough on the Fraser Coast recently. TRACTION helped students build the recumbent bike for the event and they took it in turns riding laps around the 1.5km track. This amazing group of young men were an inspiration and it was a pleasure for TRACTION to support the team. Click here to read the full story.

It’s fantastic when the corporate community gets behind TRACTION. Two groups from global company Accenture have visited our Capalaba and Moorooka workshops in the last fortnight. Accenture encourages its team to volunteer in areas and for causes they are passionate about as part of their overall investment in building community leaders. TRACTION participants love having special guests visit because it reminds them that people care. The Accenture team got on the tools, helped our participants with their bicycle build projects and participated in our ‘Check Out’ meetings at the close of day. Click here to read the full story.

President Jan from the LIONS Club of Capalaba visited the workshop recently. LIONS are supporting TRACTION by purchasing much needed items, including tooling, equipment and paint. Read the full story.
