NEW ACADEMIC YEAR
NEW COLLEGE STRUCTURE

Recently, the Board of Trustees approved a request for combining and renaming the departments within the Judith Herb College of Education.  The new structure will enhance our communication and functionality.  The Department of Teacher Education will bring together all programs connected to teacher licensure.  This includes the general and special education faculty and programs.  Teacher Education will be lead by interim chair Dr. Jenny Denyer. Likewise, Dr. Edward Janak is the chair for the Department of Educational Studies.  This department joins the higher education, educational technology, and the educational foundations programs and faculty. We are looking forward to a great year under our revised structure.

Dr. Jenny Denyer begins her new role as Interim Chairperson for the Department of Teacher Education. Best wishes!

NEW CERTIFICATE
 PRINCIPAL LICENSURE

The Ohio Chancellor’s Council on Graduate Studies has recently approved a new program for the Judith Herb College of Education:  The Principal Licensure Graduate Certificate. The certificate will afford current educators, who have a master’s degree, to earn the principal license. Courses are offered face-to-face, distance learning, and blended.  The demand for principals is growing.  Additionally, the tuition rate for graduate programs in education has not increased for 2019-20, so now is a great time to earn this credential.
