A strong southerly saw the entire fleet of 23 boats complete the race in less than 4 hours. At 5 pm the winds arrived blowing 30 knots from the south. RO Steve Bardsley monitored whilst crews relaxed on the deck. Everyone's patience was rewarded with excellent sailing conditions after 6 pm.
