Hello MentorMe Families and Participants,
This week was one of a kind!
We started off with our Good Apple Bad Apple game. One apple was passed around the group and each person said something mean to it and dropped it. Another apple was gently passed around and something nice was said to it. When we were done we examined the inside and outside of the apples and saw how the bad apple was full of bruises while the good apple was still in perfect condition. This exercise helped us to visual how our words can affect ourselves and others.
Our guest speaker this week was Felicia Mycyk. Felicia is a mother of four, founder of the Ambridge Connection, "Be the Change" awardee from the Governor's Conference for Women, and so much more! She brought an absolutely unique and powerful message about listening techniques and leadership qualities. Her teaching style, which included an athletic approach, was an experience that was both physical and mental. It was a great learning experience for both the youth and the mentors! It's obvious that Felicia truly strives to be a lighthouse in all she does, illuminating a clear path forward and empowering others to advance to their next level of success.
