Lawn Chair Church forecast for this Sunday:

We are again monitoring the latest weather forecasts and will announce on Saturday evening whether or not we will gather in person this Sunday for Lawn Chair Church.

If we don't meet in person we will still livestream worship at 10AM at brentwoodchristianchurch.tv.

When determining whether or not to meet each Sunday for Lawn Chair Church, our forecast will use the following terms:

On = Will meet in person as scheduled; worship also offered online

Pending = Uncertain, still monitoring the weather, announcement forthcoming

Cancelled = No in person gathering; worship online only

Meal Train for Mark Chamberlin

A beautiful voice in our congregation had surgery this week. If you have had the privilege of sitting near him during a service, you know what I’m talking about. One of Mark Chamberlin’s kidneys has decided to cause a problem and had to go. He will have at least four weeks of recovery, but his family will be there to provide assistance for the first two. After that, we are hoping the church family or others would step up and deliver some meals. If you can provide dinner for Mark and his mother on any of the days below, we know they would be greatly appreciated.

You can sign up to provide a meal at the link below:

Youth Group Event

All 6-12th graders are invited to our first in person youth group gathering this Saturday, Oct. 24, in the backyard of Shannon and Shelby Smith’s house! It will be lots of fun and socially distanced. Masks are required. We will have a 🔥 for s’mores (and warmth!) and games 🎯 for fun. It starts at 5:30pm so make sure to dress warm!

Please RSVP to Shannon at (417) 425-5034. Their address is:

1100 E Kingsbury St, Springfield MO 65807

Children’s Ministry Activities with Pastor Sarah

Snowflex Field Trip
Brentwood Families, we are booked to fly down Snowflex Mountain on inner tubes Saturday, November 7 at 4 p.m. Cost is $20 (normally $35). Cost will be even lower ($15) if we have 30 people go. A waiver must be filled out. If you email me that you want to go, I will send you the waiver to fill out. This outing is open to all ages. Children ages 3-5 can have fun too; they just have to be held by an adult as they ride down.

Everyone will be responsible for their own transportation. I have to know by Thursday, November 5 if you plan to go so that prices can be adjusted. You will pay the church the fee. Please message me for questions. This was a super fun outing the last time we did this. Don’t miss it! (Adults welcome too!)

Children’s Christmas Program
This year we will be having a series of questions and answers: as many youth (6th grade and up) as possible will ask questions about Christmas they would like our children to answer. Once the sanctuary is decorated for Advent, children and youth (by appointment only) will be asked to meet at the church (at different times) for a short recording.

In addition, any children (or youth) who would like to sing, will also be invited to schedule a recording at the sanctuary. Then, through the magic of Phil and Emily, all the pieces will be spliced together to form our program.

I will be scheduling these appointments and recording the videos. If you have a 6-12 grader, please consider asking them to think of a question (about God, Jesus, Christmas, etc.) they would like a child to answer.

If you have a child or youth who would like to offer a song (vocal or instrumental), please let me know. I can’t wait to hear what they all have to say or sing or play. This should be fun!

Wednesday Night Zoom Meetings for Kids
Zoom meetings for kids will begin in January. On the first Wednesdays of the month, Sarah will host children 4 yrs-3rd grade (Kids’ Club) and on the third Wednesdays the Middlers (4th-6th grade) will be invited for a zoom meeting. Meetings will last 30 minutes.

Sermon series continues this Sunday
