In Case You Missed it: From the Heart’s Feeling Artful  

On Saturday, April 20th, Feeling Artful excited the community at the beautiful New Spire Arts. Friends and families gathered to explore their emotions together and understand that we all experience our feelings differently.

Feeling Artful consisted of an enticing youth art exhibit, empowering youth performances, and an art activity that allowed for creative expression using acrylic tiles and pens.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The Frederick County Health Department building and several county government buildings will be lit green in observance. This is a statewide initiative from Governor Wes Moore.

From the Heart Presents: Voices of Resilience

The Mental Health Workgroup of the Frederick County Local Health Improvement Process (LHIP) has launched a community-wide campaign, From the heART: Creative expressions in mental wellness. This campaign aims to foster an inclusive and compassionate community by embracing the power of art to challenge societal stigmas surrounding mental health.

Transformative Arts Project's 2nd annual Photovoice Exhibit will highlight Frederick's diverse communities’ stories on resilience and mental health. Voices of Resilience will feature the voices from AACF Immigrant Communities, Ukrainian Refugees, Hood Diversity Coalition, The Frederick Center youth, and more!

Join the FREE interactive workshop to transform your workplace into a recovery-friendly environment! Discover the essentials of hiring and supporting staff navigating mental health and substance use recovery. 

A light breakfast will be served. 

All participants will earn a Recovery is Good Business Partner certificate. 

Mind + Body Yoga Series Launch

Birthing Journey for Black Families: A Photo Voice Project

The Frederick County Health Department has launched Birthing Journey for Black Families: A Photo Voice Project. this project is a way for people to share photos of their daily lives to raise awareness about what’s important to them, share thoughts, start conversations, and even change rules or policies.

Instructions:

1. Take a picture that shows the birthing journey in your experience.

2. In a few words, answer the “SHOWED” questions in the flyer to the left.

3. Post your picture and tag the Frederick County Health Department (@FCHealthDept).

Frederick County Health Department Addiction Survey

This survey is asking Frederick County residents 18+ to share their feedback and experiences on the impact of substance use disorder and addiction within their community. In this survey, substance use disorder includes all types of alcohol and drugs.

The survey is open until May 31 and available in English and Spanish.
