Welcome to On the Brink radio broadcast #199. Joining us again this week is the amazing unstoppable kaitiaki moana Dr. Terry 'Mr. Limpett' Lilley, Kauai--based marine biologist, underwater photographer, film-maker, educator, and arch-nemesis of the U.S. Navy.
This the fifth time Terry has joined us on OTB, this being his fourth solo interview plus the three-way we did with his dive/research colleague the illustrious Stewart 'The Effect' Simonson.

In this show we cover some of the more salient points that Terry and I have discussed previously, with emphasis on the now-provable reality that the massive die-off of coral reefs on Kauai's north shore was being caused by the U.S. military's massive microwave installation there and now that they've moved most of their operations far off-shore, the reefs are regenerating at amazing speed. A corollary of this work is that 'climate change' is not causing the reef die-offs.

All this is SO HUGE that it just won't fit onto most people's personal radar screen. What we are trying to do is not to shrink the ideas to fit the screen, but to inspire folks to expand their screens so that reality will fit onto it...or at least subsets of reality.

Terry fills us in on the 'nuclear war red alert' scare propaganda being disseminated throughout Hawai'i and possibly the west coast of the USA, the massive military build-up in the South China Sea and South Pacific in general, and how the island of Kauai and Hawai'i in general are being fast-tracked as offensive missile bases for the ever-revving US military juggernaut...the world's biggest business.

The most urgent dimension of this show, and of mine and Terry's work in general, is to convey the urgent necessity first of public education and awareness then ACTION to protect what's left of the relative pristinity of Australian and New Zealand's marine environments from the onslaught of U.S. hegemonic intrusion: even the castrated environmental regulations still in place in America are an impediment to the military's carte blanche requirement, so the trend now is for all the weapons testing, war games and actual deployment scenarios to be relocated to the coastal regions of Australia and New Zealand, where no such regulations have ever existed.
The health of Mother Ocean and all her families of life, in particular my heroes the whales and dolphins, are at increasingly grave risk all around the lands of Aus and Aotearoa, and these destructive influences are more evident here where I am right now...the Great Barrier Reef...than anywhere else on Mother Earth.
