Financial Institution Pro Bono Day
Yesterday, May 2, was Financial Institution Pro Bono Day, when we celebrate attorneys at our partner financial institutions who change the lives of countless New Yorkers each year through their commitment to expanding access to civil justice. Yesterday, six of those institutions – American Express, Barclays, BNY Mellon, Capital One, and JP Morgan Chase – along with law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, hosted and staffed legal clinics for our Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project and Legal Clinic for the Homeless. We salute our colleagues whose hard work and commitment to public service help their fellow New Yorkers overcome legal barriers to living better lives.

Need a Summer Project? Join CBJC’s Award-Winning Civil Court Pro Bono Project
The City Bar Justice Center seeks additional volunteers for our new Civil Court pro bono project launched in June of last year, sponsored and supervised by our highly experienced civil legal hotline staff attorneys. Volunteer attorneys serve 3 ½-hour shifts 1-3 times per month assisting pro se litigants at Court Help Centers in Manhattan and Brooklyn with small claims, consumer debt, name change, and other matters.
