King Harold Academy runner-up in World Book Day competition
King Harold Academy has been named runner-up in a national World Book Day competition.
Librarian Giselle Morris and several Year 8 students, Klerda Murtezi (group leader), Georgiana Burca, Isabella and several others created a display to demonstrate their love of reading books and entered the competition last December.
Mrs Morris said: "The students worked on the display in the Learning Resource Centre as well as relentlessly dedicating time at home for two weeks by planning, designing and preparing the resources for the display.
"To make sure their display was the best it could possibly be our students worked right up to the competition deadline.
"The students demonstrated their commitment to reading and learning and I am immensely proud of their achievement."
The students will receive a book of their choice while their efforts have also earned them a copy of 'A Child of Books' signed by Oliver Jeffers and Sam Winston and a framed limited edition print from the book courtesy of publisher Walker Books.
