Town mayor holding tug-of-war competition and charity ball for
St Clare Hospice
A knockout tug-of-war competition is being organised by Waltham Abbey Mayor Mick Fitch to raise money for St Clare Hospice.
The competition will be held at the Town Mead recreation park, Brooker Road, on Saturday, April 21.
Teams of eight adults are invited to enter. Participants must be available from 11am on the day.
There is a £5 per person entry fee.
Entry forms are available from the tourist information centre, 6 Highbridge Street, Waltham Abbey, or by emailing beverley.hodges@walthamabbey-tc.gov.uk.
The deadline for entries is Friday, March 16.

A charity ball being organised by Waltham Abbey Mayor Mick Fitch will be supporting St Clare Hospice.
The fundraising event is at Waltham Abbey Town Hall, Highbridge Street, on Saturday, March 24 (7pm for 7.30pm).
Tickets for the black tie / lounge suit evening, with a three-course meal, cost £50 each (£360 for a table of eight).
There will be a licensed bar and a raffle with dancing to The Beaucrees.
