Day nursery and pre-school buries time capsule
Sunshine Day Nursery and Pre-School celebrated the start of work on its new home by burying a time capsule in the foundations at Pick Hill, Waltham Abbey.
The nursery has been at King Harold Academy for the last 27 years and enjoyed excellent links with the school, giving priority to the teaching staff whom work there.
The new building will allow the nursery to take more children for the expanding population of under-fives in Waltham Abbey.
The ceremony was attended by Epping Forest District Council chairman Jeane Lea, nursery founder Julie Holmes, manager Debbie Pinnington, deputy manager Carly Parker, nursery children Arley Fenton, Alfie Kay, Sybil Smith and, representing King Harold Academy, headteacher Kim Thackray and student Tia Pinnington.
