The King Harold Academy Samba Band, featuring students from Years 7 to 9, took part in the Cavalcade of Light in Waltham Abbey.
The parade, which featured several Christmas-themed floats from the local community, began at the Cornmill car park and made its way past the Abbey Church and up Sun Street with thousands of people cheering and supporting along the route.
After Waltham Abbey Mayor councillor Jeanne Lea had switched on the Christmas lights, the school's Samba Band began - led by Year 9 student Ryan Locke.
Head of Music Diana Russell said: "The band sounded excellent. It was lovely to see so many King Harold students cheering for us from the crowd.
"Well done to all the students involved. They did King Harold Academy proud."
