Parish council to focus on community halls
The future of Buckhurst Hill Parish Council's two community halls - Roding Valley Hall and the Woollard Centre - are to be considered by the parish council during the next civic year.

Parish council clerk Kevin O'Brien told Thursday's Annual Parish Assembly that the aspiration was that ideas regarding the future of one or both of the halls will be ready to be made public towards the end of the year.

The council has said that it is hard to justify continuing to operate two community halls, given the overall level of hires, the high level of operating costs and the significant amount of spending required to bring the buildings up to date.

Parish council chairman councillor Neville Wright confirmed that current users would be consulted over potential development ideas as the council wanted to ensure the facilities to be provided in any new building met the demands of the current, and potentially future, users.
