Council seeks tenders for Cemetery Lodge refurbishment work
Tender applications are being sought by Waltham Abbey Town Council as it looks to refurbish the Cemetery Lodge in Sewardstone Road, Waltham Abbey, and convert it into a private home.
Town clerk Kathryn Richmond said: "We are looking to refurbish the Cemetery Lodge to make it into a habitable residence.
"The tender includes roof works, internal remodelling and a small extension. We are now looking for suitable companies to be invited to tender for the works."
Planning permission has been granted for the work.
Businesses tendering for the work will need to provide a comprehensive health and safety policy, proof of their employees' health and safety training, the appropriate affiliations to governing bodies (e.g. heating companies - Gas Safe; electrical companies - NIC EIC); proof of their employees' trade qualifications and training and proof that they have access to the staff required for specific tasks.
The tendering application also requires adequate up-to-date insurance (including public liabilities), details of knowledge of CDM regulations and associated legislation, proof that the company holds the required tax certification, is in a stable financial position and has a checkable portfolio which preferably includes town/district council projects.
Applications should be sent to the Town Clerk, Waltham Abbey Town Hall, Highbridge Street, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1DE, or emailed to email@example.com.
The closing date is December 9 (12pm).
