Waltham Abbey Town Council has confirmed that the Town Show will go ahead as planned on Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27.
The confirmation follows the Prime Minister's announcement that the current COVID-19 lockdown restrictions will be extended by a month until July 19.
A council spokesman said: "The Town Show will still go ahead, all appropriate measures will be in place.
"On a normal year we usually have around 2,000 people attend on any given day of the show and that number is presently half the total number allowed per day for outdoor events.
"It is expected that numbers will most likely be significantly lower due to the ongoing pandemic."
The event - with stalls, numerous other attractions including a Punch and Judy Show, ferret racing and a visit from the Essex Fire and Rescue Service and The Copped Hall Trust's Rolls Royce - will be held at Town Mead.
