Staff and pupils at Thomas Willingale School and Nursery in The Broadway, Debden, have held a special assembly to say goodbye to site manager Barbara Yarwood who has retired after 31 years at the school.
Mrs Yarwood was presented with many pink-themed presents before children from each year group presented her with specially decorated cards.
Headteacher Teresa Phillips said: "We had to say goodbye to not only an amazing site manager but a dear friend too.
"Barbara has been working at Thomas Willingale School for 31 years and has been a huge part of the soul that makes our school what it is.
"She will be sorely missed by everyone, children and adults alike.
"Those that have been lucky to have been through our school in the last 31 years will be some of the unique people who can remember an all singing, all dancing, purple-haired, laughing and fun loving caretaker - there really isn't anyone quite like her!"
The school sang a special song dedicated to Mrs Yarwood, written to the tune of 'Hey Big Spender'.
Her final day at The Broadway school also saw her tour Loughton in a pink stretch limousine.
Miss Phillips said: "She is leaving in true Barbara style!"
The school also said goodbye to an amazing group of Year 6 children and wished them well in their future studies at secondary school.
