Thomas Willingale School and Nursery has received an award for its Outstanding Contribution to the health and wellbeing of its children and the community.
The award was presented at the Healthy Schools Awards ceremony in Chelmsford when the school was also re-accredited with Healthy Schools status.
The Outstanding Contribution award acknowledges Thomas Willingale as a school which goes above and beyond in Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education; Pupil voice, emotional health and wellbeing, keeping safe, physical activity, healthy eating, relationships and engagement with parents.
Headteacher Teresa Phillips said: "Only two schools in West and South Essex were awarded this achievement and we are incredibly proud to be one of them.
"We work hard to ensure our children receive the best academic education but we also try to ensure that their wellbeing is at the forefront of everything we do."
