Children take part in long jump competition
Pupils from Alderton Junior School visited Hereward Primary School in Loughton to compete in the annual Hereward Long Jump Competition.
The event is held each year using the school's long jump runway and pit.
Alderton pupil Keown won the individual boys competition with a jump of 3.56m while the girls competition was won by Brooke, from Hereward Primary School, with a jump of 3.43m.
Hereward's physical education co-ordinator Elizabeth Ladlow said: “It was lovely to see the children enjoying themselves and making good use of our long jump pit.
"We aim to prepare the next generation of Olympic athletes!"
Brooke said: “It was really fun to have another school to compete against and I am pleased with the distance I jumped."
