Epping business Richard Pryor Opticians are the new away kit sponsors for Epping Town Football Club.

Richard Pryor said: "I'm delighted to be able to help and support the club - it's local, it's Epping and I strongly believe in local businesses supporting local organisations and getting involved with the community."

Epping Town Football Club chairman Chris Ottaway said: "We are delighted such a long and well-established local business is supporting us on our journey.

"It is always very difficult to get sponsors at the early stage of any venture and we would like to thank Richard for his positive approach to what we are trying to achieve."

Epping Town, with just two defeats in eight pre-season friendlies, start their competitive season on Saturday (September 1) when they travel to Barking Abbey School to play Old Barkabbeyans - who finished two places above Epping in the league last season - in the First Round of the Senior League Cup.

The club has already secured its first silverware of the 2018-19 campaign with a 3-2 victory (after extra time) against Clapton in a special invitation match for the Walter Tull Cup - in a match hosted each year by the east London club to commemorate one of the first black footballers to play English league football.

Epping Town's first Essex Olympian League Senior Division Four fixture is at Dagenham United on Saturday, September 8.

Epping Town has initially been allocated away fixtures while refurbishment work is carried out by Epping Town Council on the changing facilities at the Jack Silley Pavilion at the Stonards Hill recreation ground in Epping.
