Year 11 students take on mentoring roles
Thirteen high ability Year 11 students at King Harold Academy have been selected to work with and support the progress of Year 9 students through the school's progress mentoring scheme.
Instead of the usual mentoring there has been a progress twist with the Year 9 students having to teach the Year 11 students what they have been learning in their weekly target subject.
This enables the students to articulate what they have been learning and also revise their topic.
They have their exercise books to help assist their teaching and if any are struggling then the Year 11 mentors take the teacher's role and help the younger student understand their current topic.
