Town mayor visits care centre for its Ultimate Dining Experience event
Waltham Abbey town mayor Helen Kane travelled around the world when she visited the Enable Care scheme off Sewardstone Road in Waltham Abbey.
Mrs Kane, accompanied by her consort and district councillor husband Sam, was invited to join residents and staff for their Ultimate Dining Experience on the theme of 'Food Around the World'.
Staff, with the help of residents, had come up with dishes - as well as flags and traditional costumes - from around the world.
A lavish buffet was accompanied by music from singers while the entertainment also included a belly dancer.
The Acquired Brain Rehabilitation Unit provides care for people with brain injuries on a short and long-term basis.
Mrs Kane said: "I was delighted to be invited to visit the unit's special day and was really impressed by all the work that had gone into making the occasion such a success, from the food and special dishes from around the world, to the costumes worn by the staff and the t-shirts worn by staff and residents and the decorations throughout the building.
"My congratulations go to everyone involved."
