Students take part in British Schools Karting Championship

Debden Park High School took part to the British Schools Karting Championship.
The school entered Hayden Merritt, Robbie Davidson and Ryan Massey, and Connor King, Jake Hinton and Paul Noquet with the school receiving sponsorship from local building firms Fredereck Sage and Perrian Builders.
Anthony Hughes, Director of Year 7 and Transition, said: "This was a fantastic support for the students who took part."
In the initial heat, in Brentwood, the boys performed superbly with students taking part for the first time having outstanding lap times of below 47 seconds.
Thanks to the students' hard work, one team made it into the next heat in Kent while the other team narrowly missed out on a place.
At Buckmore Park, the students were outstanding with results ranging from second to seventh in the six races however the school missed out on qualifying for the final by one point.
The school achieved 81 points and seventh place out of 17 teams.
Director of Year 10 Leon Blythe said: "It has been a fantastic year for the students and we would like to recognise the hours of practice that has taken place on a Friday evening come rain or shine.
"They really did Debden Parh High School proud and we're already looking forward to next year’s competition."
