Epping Town Football Club "delighted" at town council
support for spectator shelter
Epping Town Football Club has welcomed the decision of Epping Town Council to support its request for a spectator shelter with seating alongside its main pitch at Stonards Hill recreation ground.

Town councillors this week agreed to back the club's call for the shelter and will now work with the club over submitting applications for grant funding.

Club chairman Chris Ottaway said: "We are delighted the town council has agreed to work with us and look to help secure funding for the shelter.

"Some 60 people turned up for our last home match - the first since refurbishment work on the changing rooms at the council's Jack Silley Pavilion has been completed - and we are sure we can attract larger crowds if spectators know they will have some protection in bad weather."

He added: "Having covered seating will be a major boost for us as we look to develop the club both on and off the pitch.

"We appreciate the positive comments made by councillors at their meeting this week and look forward to working with them in the future."
