School band performs in town centre

The Year 10 'Function Band' at King Harold Academy, Waltham Abbey, raised over £200 towards the cost of a music recording suite at the school when they performed in Harlow town centre for more than three hours.

They played a selection of songs that they had practised after school for months.

Head of Music Diana Russell said: "As well as raising money this experience served them well for their GCSE performance coursework in which they have to perform as a member of a band - high marks are predicted after all this practice!

"Well done to the Year 10 students who did King Harold Academy proud."
