Children need twice daily breaks in the playground, not only to help them to meet their 60 minutes a day physical activity requirement, but also to help them to focus and learn. Classroom based physical activity breaks are also important, particularly on the days when children cannot play outdoors. Bizzy Breaks (Irish Heart Foundation), the Go Noodle website and Just Dance for Kids dance videos are some of the many resources that can help teachers promote physical activity in the classroom. The many and varied ways that schools promote physical activity throughout the school day can be viewed in the school videos under the See it in Action section of the ASF website .
Stickers are a great way to incentivize and reward physical activity, leadership and fair play. We have uploaded ASF
sticker designs (in both Irish and English) under the Downloads section of the ASF website. The artwork could also be used for badges, certificates, and stamps.
