Developing Others

If you’re hungry to see your friends, family members, colleagues, and staff develop to their full potential, this month’s issue of the Learning Leader is for you!  Leadership is about influencing others.  This often requires people to change and grow.  If it sounds similar to discipleship, it’s because it is!  We are here to make disciples, which involves change, growth and development.  Join us this month as we explore various perspectives on how we as leaders can help to influence and develop others.

Make sure to also check out the ALLC’s recommended leadership resources of the month, as well as the upcoming leadership schools, trainings and events both online and throughout Asia.

Developing the Leaders Around You:  How to Help Others Reach Their Full Potential by John Maxwell.  This book argues that the key to multiplying the impact of your ministry (or business) is to first focus on developing the people immediately around you – namely, your staff.  Maxwell discusses how to develop people through investing your time in others, empowering them, and delegation, among other things.  Self-assessments and personal application opportunities throughout the book help to drive his points home.
