More Christmas Parties Tonight (Fri) at Burra & Kapunda

Thankfully this year our neighbouring communities have their Christmas Celebrations the week after Eudunda.

For this district it is good news, as many residents are involved in supporting or attending either Kapunda or Burra's events as well.

We wish the organizers and all those attending the events all the best for TONIGHT.

400 + Attend Eudunda Street Parade & Party

The Eudunda Community gathered for their Christmas Street Parade and Party on Friday the 9th December over 400 adults and children of the community attending. What good luck the event had, escaping the unfriendly weather of the day before to put on a beautiful evening.
Eudunda Community, Business and Tourism Committee (ECBAT) Chairperson, Cirsten Leditschke said later,

“The night would not have happened without the great work of the very small sub-committee of ECBAT, and our committee and I am sure I speak for the whole community too, would like to thank Katie Preston, Regina Scholz, Belinda McDonnell and Jaime Pfitzner for their tireless effort and hard work”.

Photo shows only a part of the crowd watching as Santa and his Christmas Elves gave out presents to close to 140 children.

Ed: Congratulations to the girls who not only put on a great event, but were also able to get the good news into many of the newspapers, with The Leader, The Barossa and Light Herald and the Burra Broadcaster all running stories and photos. Great work in promoting Eudunda and the region.

ECBAT urges everyone to 'Shop Local this Christmas'

ECBAT urges all residents and businesses to make the effort to purchase more items locally.
We hear stories of how people have been surprised to find out what is available locally and that many times, the cost of things is comparable with items sourced South in the big towns. This is especially true when you factor in travel costs and your time, both considered expensive commodities these days.

We also hear people say they have not even considered buying locally, for various reasons. this is quite worrying as it doesn't take much to tip the balance of loosing another shop or service. Please consider
shopping local this Christmas to provide a much needed boost to the local economy.

INVEST IN YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY! PURCHASING LOCALLY KEEPS SHOPS, SERVICES AND JOBS LOCAL. THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE, ITS TOO LATE ONCE THEY ARE CLOSED.

Probus Remembers Colin Thiele – ‘His Work and Legacy’

The Probus Club of Eudunda & Districts invited Peter & Jenny Herriman to their November 2016 meeting to present a video of talks that were done by the University of Canberra back in June 2013. The University were happy for the local people of Eudunda to see it.

Jenny also reminded everyone that it would have been Colin’s Thiele's birthday on the 11th November, and it is also 10 years in September 2016 since his death.
