ECBAT launch new website - ecbat.biz

This year the Eudunda Community, Business & Tourism Committee (ECBAT) has planned a review of how they can help the community and businesses. One of the questions is 'What value does ECBAT give it's business members"? Question arise, what had been done in the past and what can ECBAT do in the future.

Editor Comment:
"Most people probably don't know much of what ECBAT has done in the community over the many years it has been operating. ECBAT do very occasionally mention their work, but overall they have been rather 'non-promoting of themselves'.

"I know this is typical of the region, people and organisations, even businesses don't "Brag".

I feel it is time that ECBAT spread the word about what they do for the local businesses and community, so that they can continue to help the region.

"ECBAT play an important role, most often one of great patience, especially seen with larger projects like the "Gunn Street/Eudunda Gardens Redevelopment which took 10 years to get in place.

A BIG WIN IS COMING SOON! We are finally about to see a replacement caravan park start again soon, which has taken even longer (than the gardens), due to so many 'issues'  thrown at the project.

"Congratulations to all who have stood on the committee previously and are at present as I know the committee have 'plugged away' over the years against all the crazy things that have been thrown at them and the community, when most others would have thrown their hands in the air in disgust and frustration and quit."

QUITTING ON EUDUNDA IS NOT AN OPTION THAT ECBAT WOULD CONSIDER.

You just have to look at the ongoing issue of Street Parking as an example of the challenges facing the community and ECBAT.

In talking about Bragging, ECBAT announce that they now have a new 'Domain Name" and web site to suit. Here we hope to keep you informed about ECBAT news - so keep tuned, about ways ECBAT helps you and how you might be able to help ECBAT and the community.

'Good Work Terry' - Emma Memorial Escapes Damage

Local Aboriginal Historian Terry Jessen has been doing some more work to enhance the memorial area for 'Black Emma' the last aboriginal to have lived in the district.

Terry had completed the memorial itself about Jun 2016, but has put in lots more work, landscaping, putting in interpretive signs and putting up a shelter.

After the recent storms, Terry had this to say,
"For those who questioned the need for a roof. Well here you go, (refering to photo) mother nature has a funny way of dealing with her trees. Time for metal runners. So close to being done and you discover you have more repair work to do"

Certainly it is quite evident that the shelter proved to be a saviour for his previous work, saving the display and memorial from the large fallen tree limb, although he has seen there is more work to do.

Thank you Terry for taking on the job of recording this valuable piece of the regions history.

This year, 2017 the Eudunda Community, Business & Tourism Committee (ECBAT) is working to help the community and businesses even harder. They hope that one way to help the community is if that community understands all the issues and challenges and the work that are in progress.

This newsletter is part of that action, and now they are also publishing their minutes on the new ECBAT website (see story above about new website).

Have a read, it's short and sweet, you might find something that could affect you, or your family, for good or not. Ask questions and be pro-active or just watch for the moment, its up to you.
