Remembrance Day Eudunda - School Reps Attend

It was great to see young and old attend the Eudunda Memorial Gardens War memorial on Remembrance Day 11th of November 2016. A short service was held at 11:00am to remember those who laid down thier lives, not only in the First World War, but in all the wars and engagements that have come since then.

Some who attended went to the Eudunda RSL Rooms after the service for a chat and some great food and drink.

To coincide with Remembrance Day celebrations Web South also released a new 'Mobile Friendly' Website for the Eudunda RSL.
Check out the photos from the day on the new website.

Mid North Junior Golfers say "Eudunda Friendliest Club"

The Mid North Junior Golfers came to compete at the Eudunda Golf Club for the first time, on Sunday 11th September 2016. This coincided with the Eudunda Golf Open.

The Juniors really enjoyed the friendly greeting and support they received from the Eudunda Golf Club Committee and Members throughout the day. Normally when they play at other courses there is no-one else around and they have to fend for themselves. It was such a surprise to arrive to find the club house open, banners flying and friendly people there to great them. It was also surprising to find photographers following them around the course taking photos. The group are look forward to returning again soon, and hope some other young local golfers might come out and share the day. Check the photos page.

Point Pass Speedway Commemorative Sign Unveiled

A great idea was formed to place a sign showing the history of this once proud raceway in the 1960's on the site of the speedway at the Point Pass Oval.

Formed by the Eudunda Motorcycle and Car Club Inc many voluntary hours labour, and material the club was a favourite of many to attend. The major highlight for the club was to hold the Australian TQ (Three quarter Speedcar) Championships in 1964. Over the years the club has held several successful reunions thanks to enthusiast and former Point Pass resident Adrian Menzel.

Many a story was shared over a BBQ generously put on by the South Australian Vintage Speedway Association. (website)

A great attendance for the day as the photo above shows some of those who attended the unvieling - there were about the same number of people behind taking photos as those in it.

State Racing Magazine's Paris Charles took some great photos of the day, you may need a facebook account to see his photos here - they can be purchased directly from him:
