Eudunda Probus Bus Trip Explores Kapunda History

Eudunda Probus Enjoy Day Exploring Kapunda History Trail and Museum
Eudunda Probus Enjoy Day Exploring Kapunda History Trail and Museum

The Eudunda and District Probus Club went on a bus trip in April to explore the Kapunda History Trail and Museum. With Andy Riemekasten driving our bus and Hedley Scholz expertly guided us through Kapunda’s back streets and telling everyone about the beautiful buildings and properties and thier history it was a very informative trip. On the trip we were blessed to have Fay Grosser’s Daughter Linda Wundke and her children Joshua, Rebekah and Stephanie from Horsham, Victoria along with us, as it was school holidays.

Added to the trip was to be able to stretch our legs and investigate the recently developed Kapunda Copper Mine precinct, which is very well done. Having young and energetic kids along was fantastic , especially when it came to the mine, as they were able to show us how the ‘Whim’ and various other working parts actually worked.

Lunch at the Sir John Franklin Hotel allowed us to extend the day, so we were ready to explore the Kapunda Museum. What a wonderful collection this is. Museum Volunteer Guide Suzanne shared the wonderful history of music, playing on various antique gramophones. We could have spent the whole day just exploring there. Congratulations to thier volunteers and committee. A big thank you to Andy and Hedley for a great day out.

Photo is the group back in Eudunda about to head off home.

Eudunda Ambos Celebrate Volunteer Week Bollywood Style

Eudunda’s local SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) Volunteers (may we call them our wonderful Ambos?) celebrated National Volunteer Week in great style on the 18th May 2021 at Raj’s ‘Good Karma Cafe’ here in Eudunda. Their theme was ‘Bollywood’ and a good time was had with lots of laughter and great food.

We thank every one of them for thier service to the community

A reminder that the Ambos are needing more local volunteers to keep this amazing and important service to the community going.

The Op Shop is open from Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm.

BankSA Eudunda Agency to Close 11th June 2021

From a local point of view it is sad to see the closure of BankSA services at the Eudunda Newsagency, another local service lost!

BankSA suggest these alternatives for thier bank:

  • Visit the nearest branch, Kapunda, at 31 Main Street (Limited hours – Nuriootpa and Gawler are the next full services and business hours branches – Ed) .
  • Make Deposits and withdrawals at Eudunda Post Office
  • Visit banksa.com.au
  • Download the BankSA App
  • Call 13 13 76 (for personal customers)
  • Call 1800 804 411 (for business customers)
  • Make fee-free withdrawals at most major bank ATMs (other fees may apply).

Why not drop in to our Eudunda Newsagency and General Store today? They have giftware and toys, newspapers, magazines and stationery, confectionery, SA lotteries, and also have Centrelink facilities.
