Nikki - Member Of National Champions
The 2018 SA Outbacks side has recently won the Women’s Championship at the Australian Country Cricket Championships held at Geraldton, Western Australia. the Grand Final was on the 13th Jan.
Of significance locally is the team's youngest player, only 15 at the time, is Nikki Grosser from Neales Flat (Eudunda).
Prior to the SA Outbacks Nikki had played in some U18 City v Country games and was selected in the Outback Team as a back up wicket keeper. The experience of being in a National Open Women’s competition with some very talented SA team mates has certainly been an inspiration. Well Done Nikki.
The 'Northern Argus' Newspaper based at Clare SA put together a great article on the team highlighting that 3 players (plus thier Coach) are all from the Mid North of South Australia.
Well worth a read - See Article here.

Flying Doctor Issues New Snakebite Advice
The Australian Snakebite Projectis the most comprehensive ever carried out, involved over 1500 patients and collated snakebite data from the past 10 years (2005-15) had given rise to some new guidelines from the 'Flying Doctor'.
The article has some interesting information and statistics, such as
“Surprisingly, they’re [snakebites] often painless and may go unnoticed" and
previously people on the scene would try to catch or identify the snake, now the recommendation is;
“Staying in the area after an attack can be dangerous and recent advances in medication mean we can now treat any snakebite with a generic polyvalent anti-venom, so identification is no longer necessary.”
There are many other pieces of advice,
You can check it out on the Flying Doctor website
