"For Eudunda to get this service is a real gain. You would have to travel a long way to get similar help.

Robertstown Tractor Tragedy Finishes Year on a Sad Note

Sadly another fatal tractor accident will be recorded for the Robertstown area when at 4:30pm on Friday afternoon of the 30th December emergency services were called to a property on the World's End Highway not far from the town.

Despite Emergency Services including the Specialist Medstar personnel rushed to the scene they were unable to save the 65 year old man who had been pinned by a tractor.

At this stage no further details have been released. The community would like like to express their sympathy to Family & Friends.

CFS Called to Baler Fire at Stonefield

Keeping our emergency volunteers busy they were called to the Stonefield area at approximately 4:30pm on Friday 30th December where there was a reported Baler fire.

Flooding After Violent Storm Closed Thiele Highway at Mt. Mary 28th Dec 2016

A fierce thunderstorm ripped through the Mount Mary district (East of Eudunda on the way to Morgan) on the evening of the 28th December. Photos taken later show that it was not just rain, but a narrow path of mallee trees were ripped up and tossed to the ground as well. At this time there had been no reports of flooding to actual housing.

This photo from Robyn Bradbrook was taken 2 days later and the water has not receded too much.at all.

There are lots of photos and ex local David Jenke has even posted a video which is most interesting on the "Mid North South Australia Landscape, Wildlife & Heritage" Group (Which incidentally was started and maintained by local artist and photographer David Gibb.

Unfortunately although the group is a public group, you will need to be logged in to Facebook to see it.

Ngapala/Emu Downs Currently Suffering Phone Issues

Just a warning that we have seen on several sources on the 2nd Jan that the area West and North of Robertstown is suffering from Landline Phone issues at the moment. Some have been told that it could be up to a week before the problems have been fixed. Most say they will try monitor their mobile phones (which are also patchy as far as signal).

Keep Your Eyes Open For Strange/Unusual Cars

In the first few days of the New Year there are increasing reports of suspicious vehicles in the area.
Currently the most sightings have been in the Truro to Eudunda area and out East of these locations.
Please keep your eyes open, observe and report to Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or local police.
If you can get a description of the car, make, colour, how many in the vehicle, where it was seen and time and what direction they came from and left, anything that can help. Definitely a license plate can be great.
CAUTION: Do not take risks getting any information
