Hi Wine Lover,

Occasionally we come across wine parcels that even we can barely believe - often from a collector that has decided to clear their cellar for some new stocks. And today it is one of those offers that have to be seen to be believed - perfectly cellared Torbreck’s rare The Factor Shiraz from the 2003 and 2006 vintages.

Torbreck needs little introduction - the brainchild of David Powell - his modern style of Barossa Shiraz helping to create an explosion of interest in Australian Shiraz in the powerful American market, no doubt also helped along by one Robert Parker Junior. They are big and bold Barossa Shiraz, and unashamedly so, that at up to 15 years of age are now hitting their perfect drinking window, softened by the passing of time.

Stored since release in temperature controlled conditions we are very happy to offer this very limited parcel of Torbreck to our VIP customers which are a rare opportunity to pick up perfectly stored aged Barossa Shiraz. Both vintages are exceptional - 2003 a richer and bolder style, 2006 showing a little more elegance and youthful vitality, but still unmistakenly Torbreck in every way.

I'll leave it to the experts to tell the story on these wines...

2006 Torbreck The Factor Barossa Valley Shiraz
"Shows exceptional generosity from start to finish, yet retains finesse; the predominantly red fruits positively dance on the back-palate and finish, uninhibited by the fine-grained tannins” 96/100 James Halliday.

"The Torbreck reds are made in such a love-it-or-hate-it style that I find them increasingly difficult to rate – though for ultimate hedonism they don’t come much better. Contrary to some opinion the wines usually come complete with strings of tannin, and should age without concern..." 95/100 Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.

"The purple/black 2006 The Factor is 100% old-vine Shiraz from the esteemed Greenock sub-region of Barossa Valley. It spent 24 months in 30% new oak. The aromatic array of balsam wood, smoke, pepper, espresso, blueberry, and licorice is eye-opening. This leads to a rich, glossy, full-flavored Shiraz with layers of succulent fruit, ripe tannin, exceptional spiciness, and a lengthy, pure finish. It will evolve for another 8-10 years and will have a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2036." 94+/100 Robert Parker Jnr, The Wine Advocate.

2003 Torbreck The Factor Barossa Valley Shiraz
“David Powell, unquestionably one of the world's finest wine producers, has an uncanny ability to discover old vine Barossa vineyards, and then secure long term contracts for their fruit. It is amazing that such high quality sources have not already been plucked by Australia's giant wine corporations. Torbreck's wines continue to get better and better, combining the old vine ripe fruit of Barossa with a European sensitivity to elegance and balance. The 2003 The Factor (100% Shiraz aged 24 months in old French oak) is a riveting effort that displays the exquisite talent of David Powell. .” 96/100 Robert Parker Jnr, The Wine Advocate.

"Immensely powerful and concentrated aromas; full-bodied, richly robed array of black fruits, spice, licorice, vanilla and chocolate; persistent, ripe tannins. Ultra-careful fruit selection has paid big dividends." 96/100 James Halliday.

As you can gather they are simply beautiful wines. What's more, I can offer you these rare collector's items for just $115/bottle in three packs plus free delivery, which is as sharp a price as you'll find anywhere.

These wines are currently in storage and will be dispatched to our warehouse early next week (there will be a slightly longer wait time for your order). They are also very limited so this one will very much be first in, first served. This offer is available online only so secure your allocation now.

Cheers,
